Each answer takes the letters of the answer before it, adds or takes away one letter, and rearranges them. Double Yolk has a rule of its own.

There are nine games in all: Fold, Soufflé, Flip, Roux, Reduction, Double Yolk, Scratch, Fork and Lattice. Four are set each day. How to play explains each game. Every answer comes from the same word list, and Scratch also accepts some words beyond it.
